Apptli — Sam Monroe, London

The site is already built.
Watch it first.

I rebuild websites for tailors, cafés, ice cream parlours, hotels and restaurants — finish them properly, and send the walkthrough. No pitch deck, no discovery call, no mock-ups — the real thing, running, before a penny changes hands.

The work

Tailors, cafés, restaurants, a members' club, a publisher, software and a magazine — each built to the finish before anyone was asked for anything. Hover a card to see it move; open it to watch the whole thing.

How it works

Backwards from
the usual way.

01

You watch

Pick a walkthrough and watch it end to end. Two minutes tells you more than an hour on a call, and you learn what the thing actually feels like to use.

02

You configure

Sign in and work through the brief. Every choice — pages, motion, backend, database, hosting — moves a figure you can see as you go. Upload the brand assets you already have and I will build around them.

03

You own it

I build it, we go back and forth, and the complete source folder is yours — design, motion and imagery, licensed outright. Host it with me or take it and run.

What you can ask for

A front end is the half
you can see.

Most of this work is a design problem, and it is the part that shows up in the walkthroughs. The rest is plumbing, and it decides whether the thing is still standing in three years. You can take as much or as little of it as you want, and the brief prices each piece separately so nothing is bundled in behind your back.

  • Front end. The design, the motion, the imagery. Your logo, typefaces and photography folded in, or made from scratch where they are missing.
  • Back end. Enquiry forms, tables and fittings booked through SevenRooms, OpenTable or your own tool, a CMS your team edits without calling anyone, or something custom.
  • Database. Managed Postgres on Google Cloud, set up and backed up — or a migration of what you already hold, with the history intact.
  • Hosting. Run it on Google Cloud under my care, deploy it into your own infrastructure, or take the folder and never speak to me again.
  • The rest. Domains, analytics, SEO groundwork, a WCAG 2.2 AA pass, a second language, and training for the people who will use it.

Start

Tell me what you run,
and what it needs to do.

The brief takes about four minutes. You will see the figure build as you answer, and nothing is sent until you press send.
